THINK.urban is a not-for-profit research group that bridges academic theory and professional practice. Through exploration, speculation, consultation, and analysis we aim for better design through applied research in the metropolis.
we are in the process of formalizing our 501c3 non-profit status in the state of oregon, and are actively recruiting board members. our group aims to connect with related social, academic and professional groups for collaborative endeavors.
We perform a variety of tasks and provide services including:
- evaluate and translate seminal urban research for use by practitioners
- absorb and disseminate current scholarship for a broad audience
- produce publications from the academic to the mainstream – digital and print
- develop events & educational opportunities – for advocacy, discussion, exploration
- provide a conduit for specific researchprojects – self-directed ideas – ideas from others.
- consultation on local projects by providing expertise in key areas
